The Salvation Army's work in China can be divided into three categories:
-	Emergency relief and rehabilitation: such as floods, earthquakes and snowstorms. We will send representatives to the sites to assess the need and help
-	Poverty alleviation and development: including infrastructure, education, agriculture & production and medical & health projects, such as construction of water supply, school construction, teachers’ training, occupational training, rural medical workers’ training, midwives’ training, support in agricultural production, micro-credit, village clinic construction and health education. We aim to help the poor people in the deprived areas to improve their livelihood and facilitate sustainable development
-	Child Sponsorship Development Programme: provides financial assistance to children from poor families so that they will not lose their opportunity for and right of basic education
